Power TakeOff Awards 40 West Artists During Energy Efficiency Month

October is Energy Efficiency month, and Power TakeOff is proud to partner with 40 West Arts to sponsor an energy exhibition starting this Friday, October 1st. For Power TakeOff, energy efficiency is at the core of who we are; with a mission to empower businesses to make energy-efficient changes for the planet. From rural small businesses to schools, retail facilities, and libraries- Power TakeOff works to deliver energy efficiency programs to benefit communities across North America. During Energy Efficiency Month, Power TakeOff joins hundreds of companies and organizations in a collaborative awareness campaign that brings to light the importance and power of energy efficiency to “meet our energy needs, cut consumer bills and reduce pollution.” Among initiatives to promote awareness, Power TakeOff is excited to sponsor the 40 West Arts October Energy exhibition.

After receiving over 40 artistic submissions for this exhibition, the team came together to vote on their favorite piece. We are excited to announce that Gary Reed’s photography won the most votes!
When we asked Gary Reed about his winning piece titled Then and Now, he said, “This piece was something I wanted to do for some time. I love touring the Eastern Plains to photograph farms both working and abandoned as well as small towns. I have been watching the new wind turbines come online for years replacing the old-style windmills in both form and function. Many fields are now filled with turbines which I find an interesting dynamic, to be farming the wind for energy instead of water so I did this composite image illustrating both the past and present technologies of wind farming.”
