Who We Are
40 West Arts is a state-certified Colorado Creative District located along historic West Colfax Avenue in Lakewood. We work to support and promote Lakewood’s West Colfax as a vibrant arts, cultural & economic destination through community art spaces and events, and by supporting creative activities and endeavors. When locals and visitors alike are looking for interesting things to do in Denver, we’d like Lakewood’s 40 Arts West creative district to be at the front of their minds.

What We Value
The 40 West Arts creative district in Lakewood is managed by an inclusive non-profit, volunteer-driven organization with a commitment to creativity that inspires artistic experimentation for both the novice and professional, and expands the creative, cultural, entrepreneurial, economic, and physical vitality of the West Colfax arts community. Promoting our local artists is important, and we’d like to see the creative district in Lakewood become one of the top things to do in Denver. We’ll do this by cultivating artistic engagement and experience throughout Lakewood and the West Colfax Ave creative district corridor.

The 40 West ArtLine
The 40 West ArtLine is a 4-mile walking and biking arts experience in the heart of the State-Certified 40 West Arts Creative District near historic West Colfax Avenue and the RTD W Line in Lakewood, Colorado.
This free outdoor gallery experience follows sidewalks, bike and park paths, and local streets and can be visited in sections or in its entirety. Supported by a major grant from the National Endowment for the Arts, the ArtLine launched in 2018 after years of planning, and is envisioned to eventually become the longest continuous arts experience in Colorado.
