40 West Studios

Our Mission:

In the heart of historic West Colfax, 40 West Studios is a professional creative workspace in Lakewood for working artists and creatives who are engaged with the 40 West Arts community. 40 West Studios is a collaborative community of local artists and creatives seeking to expand their work and their reach through a collegial network of creatives.

Our partnership with the Lakewood-W. Colfax Business Improvement District allows us to offer affordable studio space for active, entrepreneurial creatives right in the heart of 40 West Arts, Lakewood’s state-certified creative district. 40 West Studios is located one block north of West Colfax at 1615 Reed Street, Lakewood 80214 (next door to Sweet Bloom Coffee Roasters).

There are 16 units overall, 13 creative suites (individual or shared) and 3 workshops with garage door access. In one of the most accessible creative spaces in Lakewood, professional workspace units start at 210 sq. feet, with monthly rents as low as $295, which includes utilities and WiFi. The first step for interested artists/creatives is to complete the short online application. There is currently a waiting list, but a number of professional workspace art studios may be available soon.
