Power TakeOff: 40 West Arts Small Business Week

Who are we?

We’re an energy efficiency company based out of Denver, Colorado. What started as two engineers with a vision for a software program has grown to a company of over 60 employees across the U.S. and Canada. As our team continues to expand, we hold that innovative approach to energy efficiency at the core of our company culture.

What do we do?

Since 2007 Power TakeOff has been helping small to medium-sized businesses reduce their energy usage and bills. We specialize in using advanced analytics and software to simplify vast amounts of data produced by utilities and buildings into personalized, custom energy efficiency recommendations. Utility leaders across the U.S. and Canada rely on Power TakeOff to provide solutions that deliver exceptional customer experiences and energy savings while increasing utility revenue and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Due to COVID-19, many organizations have experienced prolonged, unexpected closures of their facilities. For our utility partners, identifying ways to help customers save on costs during this unprecedented time became a priority. Although closed and unoccupied, Power TakeOff found that many facilities still had high energy usage; revealing the high-cost impact on local communities from COVID-19 if left unchanged.

Virtual customer engagement was utilized to contact customers who had the potential for energy savings. As a customer service solution, this virtual and remote engagement was provided at no cost. This proactive initiative helped local businesses and schools save over 13,000,000 kWh (or more than $1,000,000) during Stay-At-Home and Safer-At-Home orders.

“Every kWh and dollar I can help the district save can go back into the classroom for the education of our young people.  Those savings could be used for utility costs, playground equipment, adding a new teacher, school supplies, continuing a much-needed program, or simply the purchase of textbooks. The savings will be recycled back into the education of the kids.“ - Malinda Threadgill, Power TakeOff’s Senior Schools Account Specialist Energy Manager

Why we’re partnering with 40 West Arts:

As a company tradition, Power TakeOff matches employee donations to several organizations of choice, and this year, our team wanted to sponsor a local non-profit in Denver.  40 West Arts encapsulates a shared vision to support the people, businesses, and organizations in the community we live within, and we are excited to partner with them this year to sponsor the Energy Exhibition in October.
