Poet Laureate Program: Call for Ekphrastic Poetry

Call for Poetry Works through our Poet Laureate Program!

40 West is publishing its inaugural Art & Poetry Anthology in 2025. Section one (1) is dedicated to Ekphrastic poetry. Ekphrastic Poetry is a form that uses vivid descriptions to respond to a work of visual art and highlights the rhetorical meaning of what is happening, shown, or said in the visual piece. It enhances the original artwork, but the recreated written work also takes on life of its own through brilliant descriptions of the original. Submit your original poem(s) and the inspirational image(s) for consideration. Note: Acceptance is not exclusive to 40 West gallery inspired poetry but priority will be given to poetry that is inspired by 40 West gallery work or written during the Ekphrastic activation as space is limited.
