Animal Ambassadors Make Their Way to 40 West Arts
40 West Arts District is partnering with Nature’s Educators once again for October to celebrate, educate and understand the impact of humanity on nature through the lens of art.
It’s just the facts, now: the conservation of Earth’s natural resources is critically important to current and future generations and declining quickly. It is estimated that over one billion regional and local wildlife populations have been lost due to human overpopulation and overconsumption. Nearly 75 percent of the world’s coral reefs face threats from pollution, habitat destruction, overfishing and, increasingly, a changing climate that increases temperatures, sea level, and acidity in the oceans.
Artists and creatives are in a unique position to capture the beauty and wonder of the natural world, and concurrently bring light to the degradation and destruction of our natural environments and wildlife populations.
Join us for a small opening reception on Friday, October 2nd from 6pm to 9pm at the 40 West Gallery for the Art of Conservation. Nature’s Educators animal ambassadors will greet guests inside of the gallery with the opportunity learn more about the fascinating lives of our avian friends and what we can do to help conserve their habitats.
Then, join us all month long for educational classes and workshops!
