Love 40 West Arts? Want to be more involved with the arts scene? Become a 40 West Arts Ambassador! The 40 West Arts Ambassadorship is a program where, in exchange for only four to five hours of volunteer time per month, you receive a free artist membership, submission fees waived, community opportunities and more. Apply today.
Timeline: January - December 2027 (an annual commitment)

Free 40 West Artist Membership for one year
Submission fees waived for 40 West Gallery Exhibitions during the year
Art gallery experience
Special Arts District involvement depending on your interests
First access to other opportunities (ex. paid workshop lead, booth setup at events, etc.)
Responsibilities:
General Gallery Shift: Sit 40 West Gallery once per month, for a 4-5 hour shift (exact time depends on day of week). Tasks include greeting and interacting with patrons, remaining in the gallery during the shift, opening and closing procedures, processing art sales. Beginner level friendly. The 40 West Arts District is active, vibrant, and ever-changing; you may be asked to help out with additional tasks as needed during your shift.
Open shifts are as follows:
Second and fourth Fridays 5pm - 9pm; first and fourth Saturdays 12pm - 5pm.
First Friday Gallery Shift: Tasks may include setting up tents, signs, bar (21+ only), greeting and interacting with visitors on the east and west side of the district, handing out district maps, sharing First Friday information, tear down and clean up, etc. Beginner level friendly. The 40 West Arts District is active, vibrant, and ever-changing; you may be asked to help out with additional tasks as needed during your shift.
Open shifts are as follows:
First Fridays 4-7pm and 6:30-9pm (shorter shifts for volunteers who would like to attend festivities as a guest for part of the evening) or 4-9pm (for volunteers who want to help out all evening).
We highly encourage applicants who are vested in the community and share our excitement about the growing momentum of the 40 West Arts District.
Selection Process
Submit the application by Sunday October 25th, 2026 midnight. 40 West Arts Ambassadors will be selected by committee and notified by the week of November 23rd, 2025.
