Submit Your Artwork.

Overview

Submissions will be screened by a panel including 40 West Arts curators and invited guest jurors to ensure quality and applicability of work. Please note that depending on the number of submissions, our curation process, and other factors, not all submitted works are guaranteed entrance into our show. We will notify you within the time frame indicated in the Call for Entry regarding the acceptance of your work(s).


Guidelines

Artists are invited to submit up to three hanging or two sculptural works via email for consideration (works with multiple components or elements can be considered as one work). Application fees for exhibitions are $5 per entry for 40 West members and $10 per entry for non-members. FREE for youth artists (age 20 and below) and college students. 40 West Arts will retain a 15% commission on all works sold. It is the responsibility of the artist to collect and remit local and state sales taxes for any work sold.

All artwork must fit through the gallery door and be ready to display. This means that all works that will hang on the wall must have a wire hanger attached to the back of the piece (wire hangers only, no butterfly hooks or holes for nails, please). Hanging works must be framed and matted, if applicable (neutral frames only). Accepted art must reflect the image of the work that was submitted digitally for jurying. 40 West Arts reserves the right to reject any artwork not meeting these guidelines.


Process

Submit entries to submissions@40WestArts.org. Please adhere to the following guidelines. We retain the right to reject submissions if they do not follow this format.

  1. Submit your work, via email to the following address: submissions@40WestArts.org

  2. Your email subject heading must read ‘Submission: Exhibit Name_First Name, Last Name’

  3. In the body of the email list, in the following order: your full name, mailing address, email address, telephone number

  4. Up to 3 images (1 for each work submitted) in jpeg format, maximum file size of 2.0 MB per image

  5. Jpeg File Name MUST adhere to the following naming convention: First Name,Last Name_Name of Work (ex.: Heather, Smith_CosmicDripl.jpg)

  6. You MUST list the Title/Medium/Dimensions/Price for each piece and Weight (if piece is greater than 20 lbs.)

  7. You MUST list the confirmation/order number or check number. Entry fee checks may be mailed to: 40 West Arts, 1560 Teller Street, Lakewood, CO 80214. To pay via credit card, click the SUBMIT ENTRY FEES button on the upper right-hand side of the navigation bar. You will be taken to our payment portal, where you can follow the prompts to complete your transaction. If you have trouble, call us to process credit card payments over the phone.
