Volunteers Restore 40 West ArtLine Installations
On Saturday, May 22nd, volunteers came out for one of the first 40 West Arts District events since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic to support art outside.
Over a dozen volunteers worked in two shifts along the 40 West ArtLine to restore two Kaleidoscope crossing ground mural installations along 13th and Harlan, as well as add and freshen up the glittering display of "Healing Visualization" by Lauren Culbreth. Additionally, folks helped pick up trash and other debris along the stretch of green.
Community members, art lovers, and even Girl Scout Troupe #380 attended the event between 10am-12pm to freshen up the art.
40 West Arts District, as well as the City of Lakewood, would like to thank our team of awesome volunteers for showing up and putting in the elbow grease to keep this free public amenity looking fresh. Your support makes it happen!
Check out photos of the team in action below, and consider signing up for our volunteer list if you’re interested in getting involved.
