From projects in Amsterdam and Poland to Berlin and Russia, International Artist Nicole Banowetz has spent the last few months along West Colfax in 40 West Arts District creating her latest large-scale inflatable sculpture. ​Banowetz is a member of Pirate Contemporary Art (recently relocated to 40 West Arts) and has shown in several greater Denver venues, including the Denver Children’s Museum. After returning back to her hometown of Denver from a project in Amsterdam, 40 West Arts District, the Lakewood-West Colfax Business Improvement District (BID) and Broad Street Realty, owners of Lamar Station Plaza, collaborated to find the proper studio space for this large-scale endeavor in the newly transformed Plaza (home to Casa Bonita). This is just one example of the energy and momentum happening in 40 West Arts District and along historic West Colfax.
